Faydo Connect

Privacy Policy

This covers Faydo Connect — the WhatsApp networking service and the pages at connect.faydo.in. The Faydo marketplace has its own policy; the two products hold different things and are described separately.

Who is responsible

Taladhwaja Global Ventures (OPC) Private Limited is the Data Fiduciary for your data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Grievance Officer: Kajal C, support@faydo.in.

You must be 18 or over

Faydo Connect is for adults. You confirm your age before anything is stored, and if you do not confirm it, nothing is written at all — no account, no record that you tried. We do not knowingly hold any data about a minor.

What we hold

Given to us by WhatsApp when you message us: your phone number and the profile name you have set. We never ask you to type either.

Typed by you: your company or college, what you do, and optionally a line about what you are working on, a photo, a LinkedIn profile link, what you offer, and a short intro.

Created by us: a handle (like @priya) and a card token, which is what your QR code contains.

Recorded as you use it: who you connected with and when, what you asked for, and consent records for every disclosure.

Location and voice notes

When you add a meeting note, you may ask Faydo Connect to use your current location as the place where you met. This can include precise coordinates if you grant precise-location permission. The location is saved only with that note. We do not collect location in the background or use it to track you.

If you speak a note, the recording is sent securely for transcription and is processed in memory only for the time needed to return the transcript. The audio recording is not stored. The transcript is saved as part of your note.

Your phone number

Your number is stored encrypted, and there is exactly one way it can ever be read: when you have agreed to share it with a specific person, for a specific reason, and that agreement is recorded. There is no screen, export or report anywhere in the product that lists members' numbers — not for other members, not for exhibitors, not for our own staff.

Your QR code does not contain your number. It contains a token. Someone scanning it starts a request; nothing is disclosed until you decide.

What we never do

How sharing works

When someone scans your card, you are asked whether to share, and what. If you agree, we record the disclosure along with the notice as it was shown to you at the time — not as we might reword it later. If you say no, or say nothing, nothing is shared.

You can undo it. Revoking a connection stops us disclosing your details to them again, and tells them it ended. Because the record of what happened must stay accurate, the entry itself is kept and marked revoked rather than erased — but the access it granted stops.

What revoking cannot do is reach a number somebody already saved. If they added you to their phone before you revoked, that copy is theirs and outside our reach — what stops is any further disclosure by us, and they are told the connection ended.

Your card image is public to whoever holds the link

The card we render for you carries your name, role, company, handle and QR code, and is served at a public web address so WhatsApp can display it. That is what a business card is. It carries no contact details. If you stop using Faydo Connect, the token is retired and the card stops resolving.

Photographs of paper cards

If you photograph someone's business card, the image is sent securely, read for text and discarded after that request. Only the details you review and choose to save are kept as your own contact record. A profile photograph you choose to upload is stored until you replace it or delete your account.

Work email verification

If you verify a work email, we keep only the domain — enough to show that you work somewhere, not which mailbox you used. The verification link is stored as a one-way hash and can only be used once. Change your employer and the verification is dropped, because it no longer proves anything.

Who else processes your data

We use a small number of providers, each doing one job:

None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Your profile lasts as long as you use the service. Records of connections and consents are kept because they are the evidence of what was agreed — they are the thing that lets you check and revoke. When you ask us to erase you, we remove what identifies you and keep those records without your identity attached.

Your rights, and how to use them

Message any of these words to us on WhatsApp:

You can also do all of this at connect.faydo.in/me. There is no form to fill in and no identity check beyond the number itself — you are already signed in by holding the phone.

Unhappy with how we have handled something? Write to the Grievance Officer above. If we do not resolve it, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Contact details are encrypted. Access to them goes through a single audited path, and every read is logged against whoever made it. Our own staff cannot read your requests or your record without recording a reason, and that reason appears in your own data export.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will tell you on WhatsApp before it takes effect. Consents you have already given keep the wording they were given under.
